Contemporary art of Erarta

Let’s dive into contemporary art!

St. Petersburg is full of historical places, ancient churches and classical art. But despite this, our cultural capital is rapidly developing in the direction of contemporary art.

Today we want to invite you to a unique place called Erarta. Erarta is the largest private museum of modern art not only in St. Petersburg, but throughout the country. Its name is formed from the words era and arta and means “time of art.”
The main goal of museum is to turn contemporary art from an “incomprehensible daub” and “I can do it too” into something understandable and close.

The main exposition of the museum contains over two thousand eight hundred works of the late XX — early XXI century: extraordinary paintings, sculptures, interactive exhibits and other works of Russian artists. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum always has temporary exhibitions: from foreign fashion photography and designer shoes to the art of Russian regions and contemporary pop art. The collection was created between 1945 and the present time. We assure you this place will surprise not only those who already love modern art, but also the most skeptical visitors. The museum will help not only to understand and feel contemporary art, but to awaken your inner potential, your emotions and your thoughts.

Moreover, while you enjoy the art, our guides will share with you background information about the artists and artworks, providing social and historical context.

At the end of the tour you will have lunch or dinner in one of the best panoramic restaurants in St. Petersburg.
